I really think giving women due dates is some sick torture method. I totally understand that we need to track the approximate timing of a pregnancy, to make sure fetus' are healthy, etc, but no matter how many times one hears, "Most first babies are late" or "a due date is just an approximation, babies can healthfully come 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late" or "the baby will come when the baby is ready to come" there is nothing more emotionally maddening than going over one's due date with no sign of labor starting soon. I feel the same today as I did yesterday and the day before and the day before that. Except I cry more easily now. And, instead of it being 75 degrees and beautifully sunny, it is snowing.
I've hesitated to write the last few days because I was afraid all I would do is complain. Plus, nothing exciting is happening. We're living a very low-key life right now, attempting to occupy ourselves with "fun" activities. It's kind of working. Time is indeed passing and I suppose each moment brings us closer to the birth of our baby - it just really doesn't feel that way.
Thank you everyone for the cheerful calls checking up on us and the prayers we know surround us. We love you all and hope we'll soon have more exciting news to share.

Waiting is definitely one of the worst parts! I'm sure you've heard this over and over, but you baby will be here before you know it. Then time will go by so quickly, you'll wonder how it all happened so fast.
hi bethany...it's janell (hampton) woods. we have a 7 1/2 month old and i can remember very vividly the stage you're at. it was sooo hard to wait. they used to give a due time frame (like end of april or middle of may, etc) i think that's how it should still be. waiting for your due date is like waiting for christmas when you're a kid. but then it passes and no present. hang in there!
Well I say, write and complain all you want! You've earned the right to do that :) We're praying for this baby to come!!!!!! Each time I click on your blog I think, am I going to see baby pictures? If I'm that anxious I can only imagine how you're feeling.
It hasn't been long enough for me since Nathan's birth to envy you in the least bit. Complain all you want! I went 40 weeks and 1 day and every single blog post of mine was nothing but whining and complaining, so I think you have even more of a right to do the same. I know exactly how you feel right now and as much as it doesn't feel like at the moment, you won't be pregnant forever. It's amazing how fast the time goes once the baby arrives.
Maybe we'll have our babies at the same time! :) I agree that the waiting is so hard. I'm already anxious (and starting to complain) and I'm still three weeks away! So, feel free to complain!
I think you have the right to complain all you want to! :) I think waiting is SO hard. I continue to pray that you will get to meet your little one ASAP!

Your little one can't stay in there forever! You can complain all you want, you have earned that right! You look great... hang in there. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon! TAKE CARE. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! :)
