Introducing...

Eleanor Christine Tippin
Born 5/8/08 at 6:27 pm
20 1/2 inches long
8 lbs. 14 oz.

It's a GIRL!

Shortly after my last post, labor started in earnest... and quite a long time later we finally have a baby! Mom, Dad and Ellie are all doing well and came home this afternoon. Of course, we think she is perfect and wonderful.

Weighin' in. We had no idea she'd be quite so big! How did all that kid fit inside my belly!?! It's a really good thing she didn't wait any longer. :)

Mom and Eleanor 20 minutes after birth. We were very thankful to finally hold her and that she was doing okay.

Hello world!

Finally doing some crying in the arms of a very happy Daddy.

Dryin' off after her first bath.

Warming up after bath time.

Proud Grandma Sargent holding Ellie just a couple hours after birth.

Finally, warm and snuggly - time for some zzzz's.

Mommy and Eleanor, snugglin'.

So, of course, we have a zillion more pictures to share and stories to tell. But, we'll post 'em later. We're working super hard on sleeping and eating right now. :)

So I am totally crying just looking at these... and I had seen them already in an email from your mom. I am so happy for you both! I CANNOT wait to meet her and hold her and kiss her in person. Gracie squealed the first time she saw little Ellie. I think they will be great friends. Keep us up to date on life - which just got a lot more interesting to those of us in the blogging world!

We love you!

Yay! We are soooo happy! What a wonderful blessing she is to so many people. You guys are loved and we hope to see you sometime soon(ish). For now, have a great Mother's Day. And keep us updated!
Lots of love!

P.S. I love the name. My grandma (my mom's mom, who was a wonderful person and I loved very much) was named Eleanor Elizabeth. That's where I got my middle name. My mom teared up when I told her the name you chose. Little Ellie now holds and even more dear place in my heart!
