Hiccups

Those of you who were around me during pregnancy know our baby got the hiccups A LOT. We used to refer to "it" as the "monster." Sometimes she was a Kicking Monster, sometimes a Moving Monster and most of the time, a Hiccup Monster. (This is a very affectionate use of the term monster, I assure you). Well, we knew it is normal for babies who got the hiccups a lot during pregnancy to get them a lot during their first few weeks of life. What we didn't realize is just how amusing this phenomenon is during the day and just how annoying at night. :) Eleanor is a definite squeaker... and gets more high pitched the longer the duration of the hiccups. Luckily, they don't seem to really bother her. I'm just relieved to not have these hiccups hitting me in exactly the same spot in my abdomen as they were for 4+ months.

So, enjoy our hiccupping lady...

That's great. We still call Grace "monster." Funny how those nicknames can stick.

our little jackson got hiccups all the time when he was little. we found stuff called gripe water that would get rid of them in seconds. it's an all natural remedy that's been around for hundreds of years (now they just exclude the alcohol!)

I am putting a web link in this message to a Seattle Times article about Paul Harshman you may enjoy reading. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/text/2004417797_ellington16.html

Garrett watched this video with me and would look at me after every hiccup and laugh and when the video ended he would ask for "more" "more baby", so we are still sitting her hitting replay so Garrett can see "more"

She is adorable!

So last night Micah had the hiccups for a long time after the 4am feeding. Not so funny or cute at 4 am. He had them again at 7 am, they were much cuter then. :)
