Finally, Some Progress

So, contractions started last night around 7 pm. Light and about 15 minutes apart. Seth and I took a long walk and they sped up a little bit, but at 12:30 am I figured I should probably try to get some sleep. Seth slept well. I woke fairly regularly to contractions and the need to eat. Early this morning they got a bit harder.

We had our ultrasound and NST this morning at 9 am. It was fun to see the baby again - especially the heartbeat and the spine. Baby is doing well, was moving around in his/her normal crazy fashion and still has plenty of fluid. Being hooked up to the fetal monitors was both good and bad. It was fun to track the baby's heart rate with my contractions, giggles and pokes. It was also good to confirm that what I was experiencing really were contractions. The bad part was, when they had me roll over onto my right side, the contractions slowed down. They are now still "moderate" in intensity and 60 to 90 seconds long, but have spaced out considerably from this morning.

We also saw our midwife, very briefly (she was paged to labor and delivery for an emergency), and got the good news that I've now dilated to 3 cm. Hopefully these events will continue and we'll have a baby here in the next day or so! Our midwife is planning to call us later this afternoon to discuss my progress and possibly schedule an induction date for next week if things come to a halt.

Anyway, I'm feeling much better today - just knowing there is some progress is good - and actually, feeling some pain is good. :) We'll keep you posted.

So God has given you some calm in your worries, fears, and emotional turmoil! I would bet it has something to do with all the people that are praying for you. It's almost over, and as long as you and baby Tippin are healthy, we will have much celebrating to do!!!!! Very, very soon!!!!!!
